Jeffrey grew up in a small brick house on the west side of Akron, three blocks from a father who built kitchen cabinets by hand. He studied architecture at Kent State, spent seven years at a Cleveland commercial millwork firm, and finally opened Yacyreta out of the front room of his own Barberton bungalow in the fall of 2016.

Nine years later the studio is still small on purpose: one lead designer, one project manager, one part‑time installer, and a stable of Ohio makers we have been working with since day one. Jeffrey is on every consult, in every install, and answers every email himself. If you write to us, you will hear back from him.

Yacyreta is named for a small river town in northern Argentina where Jeffrey's grandparents lived — a place of long verandas, terracotta floors and slow afternoons. That is roughly the temperature of the rooms we try to make.
